Place a few pieces of dry kindling on the bottom leaving some space.
 
Place a handfull of the fire starter between the kindling and place a few more pieces of dry firewood on top.
 
Light the fire starter with a match of lighter. As fire starter begins to burn, add additional kindling and wood as needed.
